Stacey, Scott and their dog Charlie moved to Texas in 2012. Since they many things have changed but their love of the outdoors has stayed the same. After the birth of their son, they opened Sorry Charlie Ranch in June 2018 on their property. At the time the plan was to rent out the one tiny house they had built for visiting family and friends. They loved to entertain and having a rental fit their style perfectly. They own 40 acres just off hill country in central Texas. Sharing the land, the sunrises, sunsets and country lifestyle brings joy into their lives. After a couple successful years, they decided to add on with a 2nd house. Every year they add at least one large improvement to the property to make Sorry Charlie Ranch the perfect stay for everyone.
Since opening in 2018 they have added many fun activities for guests to enjoy. Their outdoor kitchen has added the ability for everyone to experience cooking outdoors. The addition of chickens gives guests the ability to have farm fresh eggs everyday if they chose. The play area and inground trampoline keep the kids busy while mom and dad get a chance to relax. What new and exciting thing will you discover at Sorry Charlie Ranch?
Frequently asked questions!
Q: How many tiny houses do you have?
A: We have 2 tiny houses, the Prairie House and the Meadow House. The Prairie House
boasts 4 beds, 3 bunk beds, each bunk having a plug for its respective sleeper, and one queen size bed in the middle. It has a bathroom with a sink, shower, and toilet. The fridge, microwave, and other kitchen appliances are in the Brew House, located at the Common Area.
The Meadow house sleeps one couple comfortably. Having a table for card games or late-night discussions, the Meadow house has something the Prairie House does not. A small kitchen. Fitted with fridge and freezer, a toaster, coffee maker, microwave, and kitchen sink, you won’t have to share with pesky neighbors. The bathroom has what you’d expect. Toilet, sink, and shower.
Q: How far is SCRR from the river?
A: The river you most likely referencing is the San Marcos River. If traffic is light, it
is a 6-mile drive, which is about 10 minutes.
Q: Where should we go tubing?
A: For tubing, we recommend Amigos Beach. More about them is on the “Explore More” page.
Q: How deep is the pool?
A: The pool’s shallow end is 4 foot deep, while after that it slopes down to an impressive 8 feet.
Q: Are you pet friendly?
A: Unfortunately, no, we are not pet friendly. You will be charged if you decide to bring your animal/s with you. This is due to our fear of your pet getting hurt or worse due to coyotes.
Although, we do have a cat named Dusty, who is an indoor/outdoor cat.
Q: Do you have charcoal and firewood?
A: Yes, we have charcoal and firewood appointed to you at no charge
Q: Is this place safe for kids?
A: Yes, even though we might have cacti, mesquite, snakes, and other things that prick or bite, we are generally kid friendly. We even have another kid, who can play with your kid or keep him/her out of the dangerous.
Q: Why is SCRR named that?
A: SCRR (Which stands for Sorry Charlie Ranch Resort) was opened in 2018 with the name Sorry Charlie Ranch due to the story of Charlie, a dog. Charlie was born in 2008 and was adopted that very same year, we have plenty stories of that dog, but the story about this question is the only story of importance. The two owners and founders of SCRR made dog treats when they still lived in Michigan, and it’s said that Charlie was sorry to give his treats away. Sadly, you cannot see Charlie face to fur today, as Charlie died in 2025.
